Any suggestions for cheap on-air earbuds for talent? Should I get something completely replaceable or something good with replaceable tips? I'm helping our coaches do video interviews.

Uses same HYS model (~$25); learned that $10 options are too poor; found $25 is the minimum acceptable threshold; replacement tips are practical.
Recommends HYS earbuds (~$20) with replaceable, boilable tips; 4.2/5 rating on Amazon with good sound and minimal visibility.
Mentions disposable earbuds (~$30 for 50-pack) or individually wrapped disposable IFB tips as alternatives for hygiene-conscious talent.
Recommends Panasonic ErgoFit wired headphones (~$10); notes these are Zoom video interviews so ambient awareness not needed.

7:24But my point is, is Blackmagic just trying to say – and I'm not talking about just the free software that Jeff brought up. But did they want to get into audio because, well, we got all this video stuff, so we should have – or do they really genuinely think they're the best? Just a curious thought. It doesn't matter. Let's go to the next question, Courtney.
7:45All right. All right. Next one comes in from Chris Zapato in Albany, Oregon. Any suggestions for cheap on-air earbuds for talent? Should I get something completely replaceable or something good with replaceable tips? I'm helping our coaches do video interviews. This is going to be a can of worms. Let's just make this short. Go ahead, Courtney. Okay. You know me, Mr. Cheap. I'm using the HYS.
8:15earbuds here which have the replaceable and boilable and soakable in alcohol earbuds and they have two different types of earbuds and talk about cheap you can get them on Amazon too for 20 bucks so 10 bucks a piece I've been using this particular brand it sounds great look at its score it gets 4.2 out out of 2,800 reviews. So it sounds good.
8:46It conceals itself pretty well in the ear. It doesn't have any white things dangling out of my ear. And it tucks behind your collar and clips to your collar, so it's handy to have there. That's my suggestion. I guess the first thing is, what are we considering to be cheap earbuds? buds. There's a almost infinite number of inexpensive, just regular buds that you can
9:13get on Amazon. If you want something that's better quality and not too much money, I consider the OH favorite, Lensol, KZ, whatever they are, to be a good earbud that's not horribly expensive. defensive. If it's for coaches and situations like that, I would go with a more disposable one. They're probably not going to want to use something that somebody else has used
9:38and just with a cleaned off tip on it or replacement the yellow foam things. And it sounds like they might be in a situation where they might be more prone to getting damaged. Chris, if you're listening, do the coaches need to hear ambient sound too? That's an important question. Answer that in the chat if you're listening live. Bill Davis? I wasn't aware.
10:08Courtney and I are using exactly the same IFB monitor here at HYS. I bought two of them. I think they were about $25. I did learn a lesson, though, when I was researching it. I had been using these extraordinarily expensive – whoops, I dropped one down there. Both of these are broken now. These were about $250 a piece, and I was using them because they were great sounding and they were super hideable, but they were also super overpriced for what you need unless you're trying to be a security agent on the president's detail.
10:42I dropped down and I bought a few of these. These are the really inexpensive $10 coil things. They were terrible. Even for just voice-only recording, I found that there was a floor below which you should not go. For me, that's about $25 for the unit itself. Now, that doesn't mean you have to buy a ton of these and give them to everybody who comes in,
11:05because in most of these cases, you can take the ear tips off or the little coil IFB unit down here on the bottom, them. Or worst comes to worst, you can always take off these little tips at the end and put a fresh one on for each talent that comes in. And that's the way I would go. That HYS one that Courtney has
11:25is what I ended up with. And that's all I use now. And it works great. So help me out. Are you guys holding up acoustic tubes? Is that what you're saying? The HYS, it's an acoustic tube? Yeah. Yeah, most of these have a plug-in, a 3.5 millimeter on this end. Then there's a long involved. Now, this bad one has this whole weird little kind of plumbing in the middle that's useless.
