Seeing Viz with news anchors as operators, can you walk us through this exciting transition?

News organizations are adopting TriCaster to do more with less staff and reach multiple platforms simultaneously; simplification through buttons and panels allows news anchors to operate the system with minimal training, supporting diverse output formats like 16:9 and 9:16 for different platforms.

43:15Guy Cochran in Seattle, Washington says, seeing Viz with news anchors as operators, can you walk us through this exciting transition? I mean, the cat's kind of out of the bag now since these anchors have posted stuff all over social. This has been a very fun project over the last, I'll say, year and a half probably. A lot of media and news companies have not really seen the writing on the wall,
43:49but know where the industry is going on how consumers consume news. and what platforms are going on and how do you how do you do more with less not just with left staff but also more outputs you know ott if you're doing streaming if you're hitting every single you know cd on the planet you know we've we've had churches doing this for years where they send
44:09out one stream and has to hit you know facebook and youtube and twitch and everybody else under the sun um to be viewed so why not from a news perspective as well you know it's it's it's how you're going to capture your audience and what platform are they going to you know is they're going to be doing everything from their phone or is it going to be desktop? I mean, so the linear
44:26television model is shifting quite rapidly. And so you see this with a lot of major news organizations. And going back to the simplification of the TriCaster, right now, if you go back and watch those videos, it doesn't quite look very simple, but they're also doing quite a lot. And we've simplified that down to just a few button presses on a few of those panels. So there's a
44:49a lot of cool stuff that's still possible. So now you think about the different types of outputs that this is going to. 16 by 9 or 9 by 16. Hey, guess what? We can do them simultaneous. There's a lot of other stuff that we're able to do from inside our platform that allows for this flexibility, no matter what platform these news organizations want
45:07to go out to. So this has been advancing in action. And then going back to the macros and watching the end users work, there's some real magicians out there. Yes, Jeff, you're are very talented. We're going to talk about it quite a bit. I've known you brother for years, but so many others out there are doing some really, really cool stuff with our products.
45:27Sometimes we don't even think about it as being a use case. And then we watch it like, oh, wow, you were able to do that with our stuff. That's really, really cool. Can we talk about it? And so then you might see a case study or not depending on NDAs, but it's still really fun to talk about to an extent. Say we saw it do this. We can't tell you where, but there's a few
45:47government agencies and stuff too that i wish i could talk about um but yeah i mean we've seen tri-casters on cruise ships we've seen them everywhere every vertical market you can think of everyone's doing some form of video in somehow some way and just we've had those tools we've had the technology we've had the capability it's just getting into the hands of those of those artists
46:06if you will on making it dance and they can do some really really cool stuff very cool you want to say something jeff i was going to suggest i i saw live panel as a perfect application for these uh news things i'm surprised we didn't implement that there or maybe it's still in works maybe live panel pro might be the option uh just having just the buttons to press because
46:30i could see that control surface in front of her and i'm just thinking oh that's just so much information overload, like what do our press and things, because whenever we set up a lot of our corporate events that need to be run, or churches also, simpler is better. Sometimes we just don't give them access to everything. So live panel is, that's what I use live panel for a lot,
46:53is just to simplify just what they need, run the program. Yeah, there are a lot of stations, not just on that example, but others that are running it that way in live panel. So I know they've had, especially that particular one, yes, live panel was, I know was entertained and was being used in some form or fashion, but I think a lot of it was
47:12still came down to when you go live is what you want to do. But again, it's up to any operator. You know, there's 5,000 right ways of doing something with the TriCaster. There's about four wrong and we'll go through that in training. But for the most part, whatever makes the most sense to the operator at that given moment, it's fine to do because you're the operator,
47:29you're the ones trying to produce this content and it's showing your way as the way you see fit. Now we might give you some tips and tricks and kind of guide you here. We can simplify some of this workflow that kind of leads you into live panel. But a lot of times until these end users see what happens on the output, when they press all the buttons, that goes back to macros. Okay.
