ASKED BY · Tony Mobley · NOONAN · 13 OCT 2026 · ▶ 00:01:38

THE PANEL'S ANSWER

Vibe coding is using AI to create software; it involves affordable tools and free tiers to start, and differentiates from software engineering which requires maintenance and scaling considerations.

1:37Normally, I don't introduce Cindy for a little while in the show, but we're going to kind of flip things around because we got an early question in. And I think it's germane. So, Cindy, our question reader, what's our first pre-show question? question. Starting us off is a great question from Tony Mobley in Noonan. Tony would like us to please explain vibe coding to a beginner. What is needed and the cost? That's always one of the

2:04toughest things to do. Take something that is inherently complex and distill it down into a kind of a 25 words or less thing. John Wallace raised his hand on this one. So John, I'm gonna let you take a whack at what's your idea of what vibe coding is all about? Yeah, so vibe coding is just the act of using AI to create software.

2:27And when it stops being vibe coding is when you actually start engineering pipelines and thinking about how do I maintain and release the software that I'm creating? How does this software scale? How do I make sure this is architected properly? If you just want to solve a very small problem, automate something in your life, those things are quite easy to do. You get a GitHub profile for free, Git Cloud, Codex, Grok, I don't know, 20 other different ones that you can kind of blend up and get a little bit of everything.

3:03But they all have very affordable plans that can kind of help you get into it very basically and then think of a problem you want to solve and then start. Where does GitHub, that's a repository I know of code and it's a huge community at the same time of true coders who understand the back end. How does it fit into this process if I want to put up a website or whatever I'm going to do with vibe coding?
