Office Hours Global is a nonprofit community dedicated to bringing people together to learn, share knowledge, solve problems, and help one another grow through open conversations about media, technology, communication, and the tools that connect us.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create an accessible global community where people of all experience levels can learn from one another, contribute what they know, and participate in meaningful conversations — so no one is left out.
It Started With a Conversation
Office Hours began in March 2020, when a small group of media professionals started meeting online every day to exchange ideas, answer questions, and stay connected during the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That daily conversation grew into Office Hours Global.
Today, people from around the world come together to ask questions, share expertise, demonstrate new technologies, solve production challenges, and learn from one another.
Our community includes experienced broadcast and media professionals, engineers, educators, filmmakers, creators, students, volunteers, and people who are simply curious and want to learn.
You don’t have to be an expert to participate.
Curiosity is enough.
What We Do
Office Hours Global creates educational conversations and resources centered around media, technology, communication, and live production.
Our activities include:
- Live educational conversations and Q&A where participants can ask questions and learn directly from other members of the community.
- Focused discussions and demonstrations exploring production techniques, emerging technologies, workflows, and creative tools.
- Knowledge sharing between professionals and newcomers, helping practical experience move freely throughout the community.
- An expanding archive of conversations and educational material that allows knowledge shared during Office Hours to continue helping people after the live discussion ends.
- Opportunities to participate and contribute, whether by asking a first question, sharing professional expertise, helping produce a program, or volunteering behind the scenes.
The goal isn’t simply to broadcast information.
It’s to create a conversation.
Everyone Has Something to Learn — and Something to Contribute
Office Hours Global brings together people with remarkably different backgrounds, skills, professions, locations, and levels of experience.
Someone may arrive knowing almost nothing about a subject and leave with an answer from someone who has spent decades working in the field.
Tomorrow, that same person may be the one with the answer someone else needs.
That exchange of knowledge is at the heart of Office Hours Global.
Listen at first. Ask questions when you’re ready. Share what you know when you can.
