After Hours displays audio meters so that participants can reach a more consistent audio level with the other participants, which leads to a better listening experience.
You’ll normally see “–” or a number followed by “LUFS” in the top left corner of one of the displays and we normally aim for a value around -24. The closer the number is to 0, the louder the audio level.
These meters can be controlled by chat message though, so if you want larger meters, more in the style of the Waves Audio Meters (which we used for a long time before) you can send this chat message :
That will show the different meters for 10 seconds. To show them for a different period of time (between 5 seconds and 5 minutes, include the time like this :
/meters 2m
(You can only use one type of unit, so you’ll need to express one and a half minutes as 90s)
